Seattle Department of Transportation plants cherry blossom trees at Japanese Community Center

SEATTLE, Wash. – The Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) is celebrating the arrival of spring by planting cherry blossom trees at the Japanese Community Center in the International District.

The cherry blossom trees were donated by the Japan-America Society of the State of Washington and are a gift to the Japanese community in Seattle.

The planting of the trees is part of SDOT’s ongoing efforts to beautify the city and provide green spaces for residents to enjoy. The cherry blossoms are a fitting addition to the International District, which has a rich Japanese history and culture.

The trees were planted by a team of volunteers and SDOT workers, who worked together to ensure the trees were properly planted and cared for.

The cherry blossoms are expected to bloom in the coming weeks, providing a beautiful and colorful display for residents and visitors to enjoy.

The Japanese Community Center is grateful for the addition of the cherry blossom trees and looks forward to sharing their beauty with the community.
