California Regulators Investigating Sutter Health Over Unreported Assault on Psychiatry Worker
Kalifornijscy regulatorzy będą prowadzić dochodzenie w sprawie Sutter Health w związku z niezgłoszonym atakiem na pracownika psychiatrii. The California Division of Occupational Safety and Health (Cal/OSHA) announced on Tuesday that they will be investigating whether Sutter Health violated workplace safety regulations by not reporting an assault on a psychiatry worker that occurred in November 2020.
The incident in question involved a patient who physically assaulted a worker at the Sutter Center for Psychiatry in Sacramento. Despite the severity of the attack, Sutter Health did not report the incident to Cal/OSHA, which is required under state law.
Cal/OSHA is now looking into whether Sutter Health failed to provide a safe work environment for its employees and if they did not properly report workplace injuries. Violations of workplace safety regulations could result in fines for the healthcare provider.
Sutter Health has stated that they take the safety of their employees seriously and are cooperating fully with the investigation. They have also initiated an internal review of their safety procedures to prevent similar incidents from happening in the future.
The investigation into Sutter Health’s handling of the assault on the psychiatry worker is ongoing, and more information will be released as it becomes available.
